Ken Couch
President

Ken Couch is President of Smith Drug Company, J M Smith Corporation and the J M Smith Foundation. He has been with the corporation for 28 years, President of Smith Drug Company for 17 years, and has been Vice-Chairman of the corporation’s board of directors for 13 years. He also serves as President of Norgenix Pharmaceuticals, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the J M Smith Corporation.

As a registered Pharmacist, he is very active in the Pharmacy profession and has served the industry for 46 years. He was President of the South Carolina Pharmacists Association in 1983, named Pharmacist of the Year for South Carolina in 1999, and received the Bowl of Hygia Award for community service for South Carolina in 1978. He received a BS in Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina.

In the pharmacy industry, Ken is presently serving on the Healthcare Distribution Management Association’s Board of Directors, and was Chairman in 2000 and 2008. He received the Nexus Award in 2008 for lifetime achievements to the profession and industry.

Ken is also very active with surrounding community activities. He volunteers as a pharmacist at the St. Luke Free Clinic and was formerly on its Board of Directors. He was Chairman of the Board for the United Way of Piedmont for two years, President of the Rotary Club of Spartanburg, where he served on the Board of Directors for (8) eight terms. Former Chairman of Spartanburg Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission, as well as Vice Chairman of Spartanburg Cancer Society. Ken is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. He served as a Deacon and is currently an Elder of the church.

Ken is married to Susan Foster Couch, R. Ph. Susan is also a registered pharmacist and, like Ken; very active in the pharmacy industry and community. They have three grown children, Melissa, Kelly (also a Pharmacist), and K C.

 

Michael Rackley
COO and Senior Vice President

Michael Rackley is the COO and Senior Vice President at Norgenix Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Norgenix, Mr. Rackley was the Vice President Business Development at Kurve Technology, and was responsible for worldwide business development and technology licensing of Kurve’s nasal drug delivery technology.

Licensing the therapeutic area use and drug specific rights for ViaNase, ViaNase ID and CPD. Michael developed and initiated applications of the company technology for the OTC marketplace and created additional applications for Kurve’s unique droplet generation technology in areas of fragrance, cosmetics and skin care. During his tenure he established successful collaborations and licensing to 8 of the 30 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and 5 worldwide biotechnology companies. Michael was the recipient of the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Worldwide Business Development Leadership Award.

As President & Senior Consultant of Titan Technology, Michael was responsible for product acquisition and therapeutic category streamlining for several small to mid-sized ethical and generic pharmaceutical companies, in addition to business development activities, product development, contract sales force negotiations. Michael successfully out-licensed non-core products for several mid-sized pharmaceutical companies. Michael was responsible for the co-development and subsequent sale of the first cellular phone based patient diary reporting platform for clinical patient based studies.

During his tenure at EffRx, Inc. as Executive Vice President Michael was responsible for new product development that transformed the company into a viable pharmaceutical entity as well as raising capital and authoring key patent protection. As Vice President of Marketing he was responsible for salvaging a failing vitamin business, reformulation of existing products and new product development. Michael has held sale, sales management and marketing roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb and A.H. Robins.

Michael is a 1988 graduate of West Virginia University and the 1998 Recipient of the Margret Cole Buchannan Distinguished Alumni Award, he is married with two children.

 

Thomas McLean
Vice President of Strategic Alliances

Tom McLean has 37 years of comprehensive industry experience. Mr. McLean spent the vast majority of his career at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, where he served in the field and corporate headquarters in various marketing positions and senior management.

Following a successful career at GlaxoSmithKline, Mr. McLean joined Athlon Pharmaceuticals in Birmingham, Alabama, as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. He also served as Vice-President of Sales at ProEthic Pharmaceuticals and Director of Marketing at Centrix Pharmaceuticals, both Alabama pharmaceutical companies, prior to initializing the business plan and start-up of Norgenix Pharmaceuticals.

 

Rich Shea
Vice President of Women's Healthcare

Rich brings seventeen years of life sciences industry management expertise to Norgenix including experience in both large pharmaceutical companies and entrepreneurial organizations. He has significant experience across the value chain having held leadership roles in marketing, managed care, sales management, business development, manufacturing, strategic planning and clinical development. Prior to joining Norgenix, Rich was responsible for global operations for the drug development outsourcing division of a public company. Rich earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame (cum laude) and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business (Fuqua Scholar, top 10% academic standing).



E.P. Martin
Director of Accounting

E.P. Martin comes to Norgenix with over 15 years of extensive experience in finance and accounting. Prior to joining Norgenix as the Director of Accounting, Mr. Martin held the positions of Vice President of Finance and Administration at Copac, Inc., Finance Manager at Compaq Computer Corporation (Hewlett-Packard), Director of Finance Operations at Telxon Corporation and Manager of Financial Planning at Monarch Marking Systems (Avery Dennison).

E.P. is a graduate of The Ohio State University with BSBA in Accounting. He received his MBA at Miami University, and is married with three children.

 

Guy Gardner
National Sales Manager

Guy Gardner, National Sales Manager, joined Norgenix Pharmaceuticals following a one year Sales Consultant role in the Toyota Automobile Industry, a 20 year sales and leadership career in pharmaceuticals with Pfizer Inc, and five years in Office Equipment Sales. Throughout his career with Pfizer, Guy was promoted five times and served as a high performing Sales Representative, District Hospital Representative, Cardiovascular Specialty Representative, District Sales Manager, Sales Operations Director, and 10 years as a National Sales Manager. He was responsible for developing new sales teams in the primary care and specialty markets delivering sales results for Urology, Cardiovascular, CNS, Respiratory, and Women’s Health products.

Guy brings to Norgenix Pharmaceuticals, a wealth of experience in Talent Development, Leadership Training, Sales Performance, and building a Team Culture of Accountability. Over 25 years, he has won several sales performance and leadership awards including Top Sales Performer, District Manager of the Year, and Vice President’s Management Cabinet.

Guy graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. in Business Management and was a Scholarship Athlete on the Bearcat Baseball Team. He is married with three children.

 

Darin Zepf
Eastern Regional Sales Manager

Darin brings 14 years of diverse sales and management experience to Norgenix. Darin began his career and spent seven years with the Enterprise Rent-A-Car organization. Working in the daily rental business unit he quickly became sales leader and eventually moved into a branch manager role where he received numerous sales and profitability awards.   After being recruited to the Fleet Services division his business to business sales acumen won him rookie of the year and sales representative of the year for the state of New Jersey. Darin has since held various sales and specialty positions in the pharmaceutical and bio-tech industry with Forrest Labs, GlaxoSmithKline and Allergan Inc.

Most recently he served as Vice President of Sales/Marketing for NMC financial, a small real estate and financial services company. While in that role he developed a dynamic sales model which grew the business from three local branches to over 15 branches nationwide.

Darin graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (cum laude) with a dual major in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. He currently resides in Charlotte North Carolina.

 

James Hopper
Product Manager

James Hopper comes to Norgenix with an extensive sales and clinical background. With over 15 years in healthcare, James has worked in a variety of roles within the specialty pharmaceutical and medical device industry. Prior to joining Norgenix, James worked with several medical device companies as an Independent Sales Consultant in addition to several years with Sanofi-Aventis and Solvay Pharmaceuticals. He also has a clinical background in research and cardiology.

He received his B.S. in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He is married with three children.
